HTI of Britain is a recognised course provider for the British Society of Hypnotherapists (Est 1950), the longest established professional organisation for Hypnotherapy in the UK. With nearly 25 years of hypnotherapy teaching experience in the UK we are widely recognised as experts in the training of professional hypnotherapists. We have trained many physicians, psychologists, psychotherapists and other professionals as well as individuals from all walks of life to use advanced hypnosis for career applications and personal goals. Our work has received considerable public attention through media coverage of our in-depth hypnosis for medical and health applications, addictions and deep psychological problems. Our comprehensive training programme, comprising 200 hours of intensive classroom teaching in Courses 1-4, with options to study to over 300 hours, aims to teach ALL of our pupils to the highest standards, aiding them to become competent professionals and to deliver the highest standards of service effectively and safely to their clients. We provide our trainees with the highest standards of hypnosis training to help them develop their clinical practice and its financial base more quickly. Building a successful hypnotherapy practice depends on an expanding referral base generated by recommendations from satisfied customers far more than possession of specific hypnosis qualifications or membership of particular hypnotherapy organisations. Graduates from our career training programme receive several accreditations and qualify for membership of well-respected national and international professional hypnotherapy organisations with meaningful standards. Their training also qualifies them for membership of many professional registers, councils, societies and other voluntary regulatory bodies that currently exist in the field of hypnotherapy in the UK.
HTI provides hypnosis training courses at several levels from foundation to intermediate and advanced levels and offers a variety of postgraduate support programmes along with training in marketing and building a hypnotherapy practice. HTI teaches to the highest educational standards while being very practical and interactive in teaching the skills of effective clinical hypnosis. Content of the courses includes the most modern, scientifically-validated information and the best evidence-based methods from research and clinical practice. HTI offers a range of courses in the intensive, accelerated format for the serious student, the most effective way to acquire the skills of hypnotherapy. Our staff are highly trained in academic psychology and highly experienced in various psychotherapy and counselling systems in addition to being trained in several styles of hypnotherapy and therefore bring a great range of skills and information into the specialised practice of hypnotherapy. We do not use inexperienced teachers in a franchised-sytem of schools teaching a very simplistic form of hypnotherapy. The great majority of the classroom teaching is delivered by the principal instructor with additional specific contributions provided only by highly experienced tutors. Our class sizes are deliberately restricted to maximixe the learning experience for students. To maximise students' learning, our training programme is delivered in highly intensive courses of 6 days each with sufficient time between courses to assimilate and practice the skills taught in the classes as well as the study of course materials. Hypnotherapy is a highly practical therapy and requires much experiential learning. While conceptual knowledge can be acquired from books and online sources, learning the practical skills of clinical hypnosis requires much in-depth supervised hands-on training. Our classes are highly experiential with supervised practice sessions in class being a core element in the training programme rather than occupying much of the student's learning time with an exposure to some of the many competing theoretical models of hypnosis followed by essay-writing at a basic academic level on this course lecture content. Our courses teach the power of classical hypnosis and in-depth understanding of emotional problems through radical analytical hypnotherapy. Our programme of training courses also includes a substantial training in Medical Hypnotherapy, as well as additional postgraduate courses provided for health professionals.
There are several main traditions and a great many styles within hypnotherapy. The prospective student needs to be aware of differences in techniques and philosophy that are taught in various systems and can then choose wisely what is likely to suit them best. Nowadays, there are several styles of hypnotherapy that are substantially different from both classical hypnotism and the best modern methods that have been developed from the classical tradition. Many of these recent forms of “hypnotherapy” are more accurately described as basic relaxation methods combined with a ready-made “script” of simple suggestions that are read to the client. In other systems the emphasis is on basic visualization exercises and “positive thinking”. Such approaches are superficial and fragmentary when compared to a comprehensive approach to hypnotherapy of which they are only a small part. Hypnotherapy has many offshoots, including various psychological sytems and "energy healing" systems and it requires a level of proficiency in hypnotherapy for understanding these other systems.
Training courses in hypnotherapy vary widely in duration and the standards they set for themselves. It is advisable not to make decisions about courses and their training standards solely on the basis of recommendations from one of the many competing accrediting or "umbrella" bodies as there is no statutory or overall regulatory structure governing hypnotherapy. There are, however, many voluntary organisations and registers that a graduate of most schools of hypnotherapy can join as an individual member. The UK government has stated that it will not provide statutory regulation for psychotherapy or hypnotherapy as it is not deemed appropriate for these professions but supports these disciplines in developing their own forms of voluntary self-regulation of which there are several approaches which have been developing over more than 20 years. HTI staff have been highly involved over several decades in the development of various standards of education and competence, including NVQ and Occupational Standards, but these current educational standards are accepted by HTI as defining only a very basic level of practitioner achievement that does not yet reflect the competence level of an advanced hypnotherapy practitioner.
HTI's courses are based on well over 20 years' experience of training hypnotherapists. Our trainers teach from very extensive clinical practice in addition to a long experience in training hypnotherapists. Our trainers also have strong backgrounds in academic psychology as well as extensive trainings in psychotherapy from which the best methods have been included in our training courses. Our principal instructor, Dr. John Butler, who has received much formal recognition for his teaching, has trained many hypnotherapy instructors as well as hypnotherapy practitioners in the UK, USA and other countries over more than 20 years.
If you are serious about learning hypnotherapy, we are committed to helping you achieve the highest levels of effectiveness in your practice and success in your business. Contact us by email or by phone for detailed information on any of our courses.
HTI is offering it’s next course in Advanced Analytical Hypnotherapy in London on 3rd February. This course teaches a highly intensive and powerful approach to acessing and removing the subconscious roots of emotional problems and self-limiting beliefs. The course incorporates an in-depth teaching of “Transforming Therapy” the dynamic analytical system developed by the legendary Gil Boyne who taught at HTI as the Director of Postgraduate Education. HTI of Britain is the only UK school licensed by Gil Boyne to teach his methods. “Transforming Therapy” is a vastly more sophisticated and powerful system of therapy than the older forms of hypnoanalysis and has been the basis from which many other hypnotherapy systems have drawn to develop their own procedures.

WATCH SOME EXAMPLES OF HYPNOSIS IN ACTION
Hypnosis was used for pain control in these surgeries without any chemical anaesthetics or sedatives and to provide accelerated healing and other benefits. These are just 2 filmed examples of the many cases of using hypnosis in surgery performed by Dr. John Butler. He has taught surgical-level hypnotic anaesthesia to many hypnotherapists for over 20 years many of whom have subsequently used it for their own surgeries or to help their clients who are undergoing surgery.Tweets by @HTIBritain
