ICM
The Institute for Complementary Medicine (ICM) is a charity, founded in 1982, dedicated to the provision of information on Complementary Medicine to the public. It has worked with many complementary therapies and their practitioners to support the development and regulation of standards, to regulate and advance complementary therapists and to protect the public. It has worked at a political level to protect and advance the cause of Complementary Medicine. It supported the foundation of the British Register of Complementary Practitioners (BRCP) in 1989 as a professional register of competent practitioners from different disciplines of Complementary Medicine.
The BRCP includes a Division of Hypnotherapy among its disciplines. The Hypnotherapy Training Institute of Britain is one of only three courses recognized by the ICM.
